The Transcendental Guru – excerpt

As being written!

What or Who is God?

“I have a kind & loving God”. I don’t think that is God!

“My God isn’t responsible for the bad things in life” Again – not God!

“Enlightenment is being happy & sorting out everything” Not true!

“Destruction & darkness is bad for the spiritual journey” (Its good!).

“The chaos of war & pandemics makes no sense”. They are useful!

“I am a Divine being in essence”. What about your pain & suffering?

“I have gone past fear due to Therapy” Year right!

In Hinduism the God or Goddess as destroyer is worshiped to conversely gain safety & security. Doesn’t make sense? Has made sense for many millions for many thousands of year. So there is some evidence that it’s not counterproductive, bit is productive. Fierce Goddesses such as Kali are depicted as cutting of heads & drinking the spurting blood. No exclamation mark needed, as this is your “typical or everyday” Kali temple icon in Bengal State. Similar Devis are in Tibetan Buddhism. This is where some traction can be gained on the spiritual path by worshiping a destructive God, as this can lead to elimination of fear. Where there is another or duality there is fear, & then suffering due to the human response to fear. Starting with the “fight & flight” mental/physical reactions, then moving into anxiety & depression, if the sequence is not understood & dealt with. Therapy can help with interrupting or re-setting some of the foundation disruption, but doesn’t go to the Primal Cause. The Primal Cause is ego-based humanity reacting & interacting with Maya. Still the Truth, as there is nothing other than the Divine working also as the Primal Cause, but it is all distorted, like a dream distorts reality in sleep.

Fear then needs to be seen as nothing but an aspect of the Primal Cause, which is inseparable from Truth & can therefore be re-recognized. It is then transcended, but nor removed. Then fear, delusion, & confusion etc. are all transcended. The dark side, or life as it is, must be understood, as it is, in order to transcend or transmute it. So, if life is just aside-show, is totally illusory, & I am one with my Divinity or personal deity, al is just fine. No problems then! Except for pain & suffering, (which won’t go away). Then all theory is irrelevant & can thus give rise to thoughts that all religion or my spiritual practice is useless. (Or not working very well).

Not Divine, just a devotee!

There are two key concepts regarding pursuit of an impersonal Deity. One is the Gnostic allied views about our essential divinity & the universal divinity. The Vedanta view about Atman & Brahman being one. We all are nothing but oneness with some undefinable reality which is our our human reality. Knowing or experiencing such a state of consciousness is another issue, is otherwise it is just a philosophy that one can choose to hold onto without any personal evidence to bolster ones faith, in this stance.

I experience the Divine as Consciousness, but got there via the pathway of seemingly a duality, where human is on item & God is another, over there somewhere.W here there is duality there is suffering, but there is suffering anyway whatever ones state of realization. Fear occurs when there is another, a separate being or universe components. This is the norm for humans as it is what we started with when we lived in the Stone Age. Anxiety & angry reactivity have dropped out of history as a long established human response geared for survival. Along with a bunch of other emotional/mental activities. This now is what we got & what we have to work with even though we are not fighting off wild animal or killing woolly mammoths for dinner.

Fear, anger sexuality etc. have purposes beyond survival needs, & can be harnessed to engender success in the modern world, or they can destroy. In Divinity there is no fear, because that is a human creation. Never the less we can harness, transform & transcend fear through spiritual practice where the duality of having on external Higher Power is the source of alchemy processes that lead us ultimately beyond duality. Thus the worship of a destructive or fierce Goddess is really address our human tendencies & seeking to transform them via their surrender to out Deity. God is not a benign presence as even the coming incarnation is depicted as a destroyer, (of evil). (Read Revelations). I have a foot in both or all camps, as I have a devotion to the Shakti of the Goddess forms, which work bodily through the chakras & kundalini. Also I meditate on the formless Brahman.’, or the “void” of Buddhism. Plus experience & accept a Holy Trinity. I use all these options with purpose, such as using mantras to purify bodily needs & desires via the kundalini activities. I do this because I can, as I live in a democracy where it is perfectly legal to practice my own religious & spiritual beliefs & activities.

The human energies are not bad or sinful per se, but can be transformed to good purposes including benefiting others in service.  It can all be a bit confusing – but so is life! Surrender to your Higher Power. Find your pathway.
