This content should be in blog one, as it will be part of the Introduction content for what will become a book, when I have completed this series of blogs. I use British English spelling here due to my heritage both in England and in India.
This content of a book in progress, (via dozens of blogs to be posted), has been in the background of my previous books which are focused on spiritual practice. Now it’s time for the Therapeutic Journeys!
This book, when completed, can be a workbook/manual/guidebook. It can provide additional material to work with for the spiritual practitioner or for a secular therapeutic journey. See it as one reference source and guide for those interested in exploring all these Journeys.
The contents may further enable the completion a journey or pathway leading to Enlightenment or Self-Realisation, There is no intent to promote this view herein, as beyond, or superior to any other spiritual practice, or therapeutic endevour. It is simply a means that could be useful if followed. It has some practices derived from within therapeutic and counselling circles, with some traditional and personal spiritual perspectives.
My view remains the same as propounded in previous books.
Tune into the teachers around you, and you are moving from darkness into light
Maybe in the beginning it’s just a bit of learning about how to do something different, but it’s still a significant step into the Self-Realisation process.
This is about ultimately going beyond the light, and beyond therapy, as well as initially seeming to go towards those goals. Transcendence comes into play and light and darkness both lose their power. You become the power, as you are entitled to participate in this process, as a Realised Being in essence.
This is about you being essentially already a Realised Being in your current situation, no matter what. (Might seem to be theoretical at this point). You don’t have to be ready to start this journey!
The therapeutic and the spiritual journey are open to anyone at any time. There are fixed rules which say you must have a therapist, guide, or teacher. The aspirant will find somewhere to relinquish the dross, the mundane, and the non-enlightened/realised mentality. However the importance of finding a good guide or establishing helping support in your journey may be overlooked or ignored, due to understandable haste to overcome suffering experience within a short term time frame.
Self-Realisation – what is it?
It may be helpful here to look at an established perspective on what it entails. This is the highest outcome of meditation yoga practice.
Samadh is the deepest meditation as per the Buddhist and Hindi perspective.
This Samadhi attainment is at or within the source of Self-Realisation, with regard to both external & internal meditation, or consciousness awareness. However to think that the human based consciousness cannot exist in Samadhi is not quite correct. It’s transcended.
For instance in deep sleep it seems that the individual does not exist, yet on awakening all awareness comes back again.
In a further development of the Samadhi state the seeker needs then to find the Centre within the human “heart”, which is not the physical one. This bring back down those cosmic consciousness powers into the human experience. Then you are the avatar or incarnation of Self-Realisation in your human life.
The universe in its essential essence then becomes more entwined in the seekers experience of human life. What has been discussed in religious or spiritual terms can be then secular or defined as non-spiritual or religious – just an advanced human condition. Therapy is complete!
Then awareness of self in context of all possibilities, (as in Life and the Universe), goes beyond any religious connotations of Divinity, God or even Higher Power. This then can become the strongest component of daily life experience. (Life and the Universe is a theme of my previous books and stands for “all & all”. This “all & all description” is a bit complex to further enumerate here, but I have done so in great depth in previous writings).
So, Self-Realisation as just what you choose to describe it as! I am doing my bit here!
